Holiday packages, Hotels and resorts, North America

Its that time of year to look ahead to the next year and where you’ll go for your next holiday. Modern life can be hectic affair and there’s no better way to unwind than a luxury beach holiday or vacation. There’s some truly stunning coastline in the world and some fabulous resorts too. There are some very famous beach holiday destinations that you could go to in 2014 but we think you should try somewhere new and exciting. So here are the best luxury beach resorts for 2014.

The Maya Riviera in Mexico

Mexico might not be your first thought when seeking a beach holiday destination but its definitely a place to look in to for 2014. A country with contrasting landscapes, cultures and history, from the Mayan ruins to sun drenched sandy beaches. The north of Mexico bordering with the USA is an arid landscape, central Mexico has a colonial Baroque feel while to the south you have the famous Yucatán peninsula. With large numbers of tourists from the USA and Europe you’ll find some grand luxury hotels and resorts along the “Maya Riviera” a stretch of coastline on the peninsula. The Bahía Príncipe has no less than 4 resorts here but our pick would definitely be the Sian Ka’an. An adults only hotel with a more tranquil feel compared to it’s neighbours. All of the rooms have great views and luxury interiors. I’d highly recommend the suites for that perfect beach vacation.

Palm Island in St Vincent & The Grenadines

While there are a number of well known destinations in the Caribbean it’s surprising who few people have heard of St Vincent & The Grenadines. Just a short flight from Barbados, St Vincent is a collection of islands that are truly stunning. This island nation has no shortage of coastline and beach resorts to experience. Some of the islands are so small they’re just big enough for a private resort. We can highly recommend Bequai for some peace and tranquility, just a handful of intimate resort hotels here and a very local feel to the island. Union island is also easy to get to and just a short boat ride to the private resort of Palm Island. The sunsets here are epic and the day trips out to truly iddlic Tobago Cays.

Runaway Bay in Jamaica

Of all the Caribbean destinations Jamaica is one of the most popular and its easy to see why too.  It has some of the best coastline in the caribbean and is considered by many to be the top beach holiday destination in the caribbean. Kingston is not only the political, economic and social capital, its also the musical and cultural centre too. Montego Bay in Falmouth is filled with colonial history and some stunning coastline too. There’s a real sense of history here with 18th century town houses and plantations filling the landscape. The contrasting black cliffs of Negril are worth a visit too and it’s a great place to dive from the cliffs in to the beautiful blue water. There’s just the right mix of beautiful beach resorts and interesting daytime activities here so you’ll always feel relaxed and entertained.

The Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica Resort is the place to stay here. With it’s beautiful grand entrance you’ll be pampered from the moment you arrive. The white wash buildings with generous belconies over look the spacious pool and one of the best beaches you’ll see near any resort. A perfect bay shape to give you great views and easy access to everything you need while on holiday.
